PERFORMANCE

Wine Songs

Sylvia Hallett

A concert/performance by British musician and composer Sylva Hallet entitled Wine Songs brought the first year of events at The Vigne Museum to an end.

In Wine Songs, composed exclusively for the Vigne Museum and inspired by the centenary of Livio Felluga, Sylvia Hallett put forward her personal musical perspective, always following an original trajectory and skilfully balanced between provocative sounds, traditional texts and popular traditions.

Made possible thanks to the valuable collaboration of the More Music Cultural Association, creator and curator of All Frontiers - Investigations into contemporary art and music, Wine Songs has taken shape around the sound track that retraced Livio Felluga’s 100 years, attributing a sound to each one, while the sounds of the vineyard and cellar, recorded personally by the artist, mingled to create brand-new piece, the soundtrack of the live performance that Hallett herself gave within the structure of the Vigne Museum.

Not only a musical concert, therefore, but a genuine performance when the London artist played the grapevines with her bow, briefly turning them into musical instruments, and when glasses and bottles accompanied the solo violin.
