MEETINGS

10 Years

“What took 4 billions years to evolve is vanishing in the blink of an eye”

On its eighth edition Future Landscape at Vigne Museum brought to Rosazzo authoritative names from the international scene.

To celebrate the Vigne Museum's 10th anniversary has been invited: David Monacchi, a multidisciplinary artist, composer and sound engineer, eco-acoustic researcher, best known for his project Fragments of Extinction, an important and complex research on the sound heritage of equatorial primary forests with the aim of preserving the sounds of the world and raising awareness of the global biodiversity crisis; Giancarlo Sciascia, cultural manager and foresight specialistas the moderator to accompany a rich morning that combined moments of Vigne Musuem history with topical information and sound suggestions. In the occasion of this important milestone, the co-author of the Vigne Musuem, Jean-Baptiste Decavèle could not be absent. He created-along with visionary architect Yona Friedman-the artistic-architectural structure dedicated to Livio Felluga for his 100th birthday, an open-air museum of vines and landscape placed on the Rosazzo hill.

The focus of this important meeting was the ongoing ecological crisis. A topic that David Monacchi brought to the attention of the audience by sharing the outcomes of his research, begun fifteen years ago, to stimulate awareness of the “greatest silent catastrophe of our time,” what has been called the Sixth Mass Extinction: ecocide. This phenomenon is forever silencing the wonderful choruses of natural sounds, the “eco-symphonies” that we have not even heard or recorded.

The Vigne Museum Cultural Association through these precious moments of exchange wishes to give to its audience an important informative and emotional experience to look at new “Future Landscapes” with new eyes.
