MEETINGS
The Architecture of Survival
Architecture of Survival is the theme of the seventh edition of Future Landscapes at the Vigne Museum that took place on October 14, 2023 in Rosazzo Abbey. Taken from the title of the architect and theorist Yona Friedman's famous book, the public meeting involved personalities involved in the development of new perspectives on the social and environmental level, just as Yona Friedman did in his career, back in the 1970s, starting from architecture to improve the quality of life of the most fragile people and of our planet.
Art writer and curator, Luca Cerizza-an expert on Italian and international contemporary art, curator of the Italian Pavilion at the 60th International Art Exhibition La Biennale di Venezia- has lived in recent years between Italy, India and Germany, developing several opportunities to collaborate with Yona Friedman. Cerizza introduced to the public the concept of “survival architecture” to extend it to other historical and artistic references, providing the audience with the theoretical basis to graft the contributes of the important work carried out by the other two invited guests: Andreas Kipar, landscape architect, founder and creative director of LAND, and Emma Ursich general secretary of The Human Safety Net and head of corporate identity at Generali.
The meeting was moderated by Edoardo Vigna, already present in other editions of Paesaggi Futuri, a member of the scientific committee of the Vigne Museum association, editor-in-chief of Corriere della Sera and head of the editorial project “Planet 2030”.
Edoardo Vigna wove the threads of a multi-voiced path starting from his personal journalistic research, committed to the issues of environmental and society sustainability.
